Adolescent Recovery Program

TMC Behavioral Health offers an Adolescent Recovery Program for youth ages 13-17.

The staff at TMC Behavioral Health recognizes the emotional toll on family members whenever a loved one is experiencing mental health and/or substance issues. Families work with a comprehensive clinical treatment team to set goals while the child is an inpatient. Family members are also an integral part of developing an aftercare plan.

An adolescent may be in crisis due to a number or mental or behavioral health problems. Some of these issues can be related to:

  • Dual diagnosis of substance use issues and mental health disorder
  • Depression
  • Threatened or attempted suicide
  • Self-injurious behaviors
  • Psychosis
  • Substance use issues
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Severe anxiety disorders, including obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Anger management problems

What are the Treatment Goals?

  • Resolve the immediate crisis
  • Alleviate acute psychiatric symptoms and interrupt addictive self-destructive behaviors
  • Develop and practice effective coping, communication and emotion regulation skills and strategies
  • Create an aftercare plan to help the child and family stay on track
